Lorina Manzanita MA, SEP has been professionally helping people get comfortable in their own skins since 1998. She is a Somatic Sex and Relationship Coach, certified Somatic Experiencing© Trauma Resolution Practitioner, writer and teacher. She’s offered a number of body-oriented, intimacy cultivating workshops such as “Somatic Skills for Sexual Integrity and Intimacy” and “Awakening Desires” and “How to Turn Her On”.
Her work integrates a number of healing systems that honor mindfulness and the body’s intelligence. Her influences include (but are not limited to) Somatica© Sex & Relationship coaching, Somatic Experiencing, the Hendricks relationship coaching, Shakti Malan Somatic Sexual Presencing, Hakomi, healing developmental trauma with Diane Poole Heller and Larry Heller and CoActive Coaching with CTI. She’s also a JFK University graduate.
Conscious dance floors have been her primary home for the past 2 decades. Her influences include 5Rhythms, Open Floor, Soul Motion, Authentic Movement, Contact Improv and Blues Fusion dancing.
Juicy Integrations:
An Intimate Play with Polarities
This intensive offers an opportunity to for you to journey through a series of intimacy enhancing embodied inquiries. Participants will be supported to find creative and juicy points of integration between a variety of polarities. We’ll mindfully, playfully and creatively use our body’s intelligence to explore some of the polarizing tensions underpinning the #metoo movement in a way that invites connection, wholeness and healing.
Mind & Body: In this exploration we’ll start to cultivate a field of intimacy with communication practices that highlight embodied self-awareness. We’ll explore the language of feelings and sensations and reveal the relationship between mind body integration, erotic integrity and true intimacy. Movement scores will inspire our discussions.
Masculine & Feminine: During this session we’ll use role play and embodied games to discover what our individual relationship is to an array of “masculine” and “feminine” qualities. This dynamic learning laboratory will support each participant to include more of the excluded aspects of Self to enrich one’s skillfulness within the dance of intimacy.
Victim & Villain (and Rescuer) This session will be a space for people to share their stories, deconstruct the drama triangle, move through outdated defense patterns and be witnessed in a space of empowered, creative strength and vulnerability. Aspects of full-bodied storytelling and ritual theater will shape our time together.
Heaven & Earth. A mini-vision quest: here you can take your unresolved polarizing conflicts, longings and prayers to Nature to help you find a space of resolution, peace and inspiration. You’ll be instructed on how to have a sensation rich dialogue with Nature and then be invited to bring your harvested wisdom to the group.
