Jam Erotique: Awakening Eros in Our Dance Spaces

“What does it look like to bring erotic presence consciously and intentionally into our dance spaces? What if the erotic isn’t something that we seek with an agenda but rather a basic building block of our creative dance vocabulary; one more window through which we can access authenticity and connection in our dances? What if we weren’t afraid of the erotic and what if we let the erotic be bigger than our media lets us believe that she is?

In this intensive, we will inquire into these questions and others, so as to begin to access more of the erotic in our dancing bodies; safely and deeply integrating the presence of this powerful voice so that we can discover as dancers how she shows up for each of us, and between us, uniquely. We will explore how to create spaces that welcome her without the usual pitfalls that happen when the erotic shows up as shadow. We will welcome the erotic as an honored and celebrated guest in our dancing making space for her to come and go as she pleases and discover what she has to show us.”
